Krystal Emmons, Bee Kids Preschool Owner
Teaching has always been something I've been passionate about. In 2004, I enrolled at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary to pursue a degree in Christian Education. Once I completed my degree there, I continued my studies at Union University in Organizational Leadership to better prepare myself for a future in providing children richer learning experiences by organizing teams.
In 2010 I joined the Childrenʼs Ministry Team at one of Memphisʼ largest non-denominational churches. I was responsible for organizing and training staff and volunteers, planning activities and hosting special events, along with many other responsibilities that impacted the safety, care and execution of weekly lessons for 300+ preschoolers. Over time my role grew and adapted to organizing for 800 children and their families while overseeing a volunteer team of 200+, a paid staff of 4 and 2 interns that served alongside me.
Since 2016, I stepped out of Ministry, re-married and I've worked alongside my husband running a successful Fitness Studio in Bartlett, Tn. In 2020 my husband and I had a little girl, Lucy. We soon ran into the problem of not being able to find a preschool in our area that had the room to accommodate her. Lucy was placed on the waitlist for 5 different daycare centers and each one of them was 8 to 12 months long.
As I began researching the surrounding areas (Arlington and Lakeland), I found the same issue existed in these areas as well. It became very clear that there is a desperate need for centers that provide a quality preschool education and care in our community. This is how Bee Kids Preschool Learning Center came to be.
Above all things, I am a mom. My children are 26 years old, 21 years old, and 3 years old. God said that wasn't enough so He blessed me with bonus kids who are 13 and 12 years old. I understand the new mom and dad who are so nervous to leave their most valued possession with someone they barely know. I see the mom of that strong willed 3 year old who will change the world one day, but just wants to hear, "yes ma'am" right now. I am that mom who worried about the stutter and the developmental delays in my 5 year old. I understand the stress of balancing home and work. My goal is to relive the anxiety, stress and pressure surrounding leaving your children in someone else's care. I will accomplish that goal by building a team of highly trained, professionals. These Early Childhood Educators will nurture, care for and teach every child under our care by using age appropriate methods that support their development.

Being under Krystal's leadership is different than working for someone. She is a
fair, just and compassionate lead. She loves the children in her charge fiercely and defends them like they’re her own. She has the sacrificial heart to always show
up first, leave last, clean up the messes, do the hard things and it’s the ideal
leadership for sacrificial staff. Her standards are high, but she will form a
teachable spirit into an amazing teacher. Working alongside her has always been a joy.
-Michelle Stevens
"Krystal cares deeply about children. Loved serving with her and under her leadership
at our church. I unequivocally trust her judgement and her character."
-Kristin Hensley
Krystal is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to leadership within an
organization but also has a HUGE heart for the next generation. Combine the
two of those things and you get an incredible person who can lead and love well.
She generously gave of her time and energy to pour into those around
her, desiring nothing more than to grow us into capable leaders who could build
our own teams. She knew us so well, she knew the children we were leading
and her desire was for all of us to grow in grace and truth! ALOT of what I
know about leadership came through her. I’m so excited for this next chapter
in her life, where I feel confident that her leadership and love will shine
throughout BeeKids!
-Kim McMillen
I had the privilege of working underneath the leadership of Krystal and being
mentored by her. She has an amazing gift of being able to see the potential
in those around her and nurturing it so they not only thrive but are able to
pour into others around them. It's a crazy and beautiful cycle of building others
up and releasing them into the world. She also has a beautiful gift of being able
to meet kids right where they are no matter their age. She gets down on their level...physically and relationally...and brings a peace and calm that makes any
child feel seen, safe, valued, and loved.
-Renee Armstrong
“My wife and I had the pleasure of working under Krystal’s leadership and alongside her in the children’s ministry of our church for multiple years. It was a very enjoyable experience. Krystal was very organized and struck a great balance of education and fun for the kids. The children always looked forward to their time spent with the children’s program and their room leaders. On multiple occasions, we had to expand to make room for the growing number of children and I believe that is a testament to Krystal’s leadership. She was called to be in children’s ministry!”
